Congratulations Julie & Darren!

I met Julie in April.  See instantly seemed like a very chilled but organised Bride to be.  My assumption was cemented during a lovely family day out on Julie and Darren's Engagement Shoot, that we did in August at Saltwell Park.  Julie and Darren already have two beautiful daughters Alex and Ruby.  Both excellent at posing for the camera, so I knew when it came to the big day we wouldn't have any problems with shyness!

Detailing on Julie's dress came out perfectly in Black and White.  I got these shots in-amongst the usual preparations flurry.  In many ways, this is my favourite part of all the weddings I cover.

Something Blue.  With Navy as the main signature colour throughout the wedding.  Ruby helped me line the shoes up.

I love this rock and roll style shot.  Ruby was quite content to hang with her ipad whilst all of the grown ups around her were busy with getting ready.  Look at the little petals inside each of the younger Bridesmaids dresses.  Again, Navy, and incredibly cute.

I'd put Julie onto my friends at W Salon when it came to getting all of the girls' hair ready.  It was a nice surprise to see their familiar faces when I arrived.  Here Sarah is working on Alex, who looks every bit the model.

I quickly ducked out to go and see how the Boys were getting ready.  Very typically relaxed and full of jokes, they were taking all of the wedding expectation in their stride.  I found out that Darren and best man David had met thorough their love of motorbikes.

Then back over to the bridal suite to see that the younger bridesmaids had received a little thank you gift from the bride.   Lovely bracelets to wear on the day!

With the whole bridal party just about ready to begin the ceremony I stole a few minutes to get some shots of everyone at their best.
Bouquets were supplied by another Friend of Pearman Photography.  None other than Emma Pink of Boutique Floral.  Bot the centre-pieces and bouquets were fabulously crafted and worked great with Julies colours and themes of the day.

I've saved the special shots of Julie walking down the gorgeous staircase at Linden Hall.  When I saw this picture I instantly remembered that little Ruby liked the echo sound of the grand room where the wedding would be taking place.  This is Julie and Darren's reaction to her testing the sound out.  With a lot of children at the wedding, even the registrar commented at the end of the ceremony that all of them had been impeccably behaved.  We even gave them a clap!

Just after signing the register, Alex and her Dad shared a couple of happy tears, you would never have known it from this shot - so sorry guys, your lovely emotional moment is now out there!

Julie and Darren set to leave the grand room as Man and Wife.

At the entrance of the Hall, we got some lovely photographs of the bridal party.  I love how cute the little bridesmaids are here.

We then took a short stroll into the grounds of Linden Hall, autumnal leaves and low-sunshine made for some great photographic opportunities.  Here is Ruby running into the leaves.

Ever the daredevil, I was thrilled when I secured permission from the day's wedding planner to jump out of the bridal suite window onto the giant mantel of the Hall.  Me and all the guests had laughs getting these kinds of shots with confetti.  Getting back into the room was not an easy feat, but you can see.... totally worth it.

Julie and her girls taking a quick moment together.  Seemed like a lovely bunch.

I told you there were a lot of children!  And this wasn't all of them!

With the cutting of the cake, it was just about my time to duck out of the day, exiting through a busy back scenes area, the guests would never find out about.

I really enjoyed working for Julie and Darren.  I hope to stay in touch with them photographing their future together.  Congratulations guys, look forward to catching up with you.

Love,
Laura xx

A Wedding Blog to Paul and Kerry

Kerry was a bride who loved all things girlie. She told me her inspiration was Marylin Monroe when she picked out all red accessories to go with her wedding dress.

A Little tom-foolery from the driver whilst waiting for the Bride to get ready.
I arrived at a beautiful little cottage on Sunday 6th October, on a lovely low-sun-filled autumn day. Kerry and her girls were all getting ready at a chilled pace.  It was great to spend some time getting to know how each of the bridesmaids were connected to the wedding, and heading stories about this.

As quick as a flash the girls all realised time was a-ticking and we needed to get to the church as near to time as possible.

We all helped the bride get dressed and into her wedding car.

The Light inside this beautiful cottage Kerry & Paul stayed in was AMAZING for photographs

Arriving at St Stephens Church a little later than hoped, the show was 'on the road'.

Paul had a face if relief and joy as Kerry walked down the aisle to become his wife. Although we were prohibited from taking photographs during the ceremony, the vicar kindly let us shoot afterwards.

Kerry & The Bridesmaid share a giggle.  I can't recall if it was at Paul's expense or not.

With the service complete, we caught a few photographs of the couple in their grand ecclesiastical surrounding.  Then it was time for drinks outside, to begin the celebrations.

Grooms Mum, very proud.

Heading on to The Crook Golf Club, the weather was getting slightly blustery.  We managed to get some fun pictures of the immediate bridal party who were all keen (and very good at) striking a pose or two.

Back indoors from the elements, it was officially dinner time. I had the pleasure of sitting with a fun bunch of guests who made me feel very welcome.

With dinner finished across the room, the much awaited speeches commenced. Paul did Kerry very proud with a beautiful speech.

Best Man prepping for the big speech.
A finely edited and written speech from the best man had the room howling with laughter at jokes galore. Very well done indeed.

As night-time approached, I then wished the couple well and ducked out to begin a drive home. It seemed like the party would continue long into the night. I hope it was fantastic for everyone there.

Looking forward to showing you two the rest of your Wedding Photography soon. I wish you heartfelt congratulations and all the very best of luck in your lives together.

With Love,

Laura

Michael & Holly Said I Do!

Michael and Holly are such a sweet couple.

I met them shortly after their baby girl Ruby had arrived.  They were planning their Wedding and called me up straight away to book me.  I was very flattered.

Four or five months passed us by, and I couldn't believe how much little Ruby had grown when the family came into the studio for an Engagement Shoot, and First Family Portrait session, all rolled into one.  Everyone did a great job posing and we all felt ready to rock on the day of the Wedding.

I pulled up to Horton Grange at the same time as the Bride and Bridesmaids.  We all set about getting ready in Holly and Michael's beautiful room.

Most preparations for a wedding are filled with excitement, nervousness and a little bit of drama.  I always feel very privileged to share this time with Brides and their closest friends and family.  Its a great time to bond and get an idea of stories about the couple, how they met, as well as be an extra pair of hands needed to help with last minute sewing, hair requirements, answering the door to any callers, and of course capture the time on camera.

Holly's preparations were certainly not drama-free.  What can only be described as "Soap-Gate" occurred.  Sensibly, before the bridesmaids helped Holly get into her dress, sister Amber had all of the bridesmaids wash their hands so as to keep the wedding dress pristine.  One by one the girls headed into the bathroom until 2 went in and didn't come out.  Holly and I waited around and suddenly realised there was a lot of panicked whispering going on.  Rowen - Holly's step sister, had somehow managed to spill soap all down the front of her satin dress.  Naturally, she was freaking out.  Thankfully, with all hands on deck, we figured out to gently dab the soap out and blast the dress with a hairdryer, would probably be the best solution.  We were all relieved when this worked perfectly and the mini-crisis was naturally averted.

An intimate ceremony proceeded.  The main -and very adorable- anecdote from this was Michael's keenness to proclaim "I do" before the minister had finished her sentence.  It was clear he was very ready to be married to the lovely Holly.

With newly married couple, officially Husband and Wife, I helped get the guests ready for their dinner doing some photographs outside in the Grange's grounds.

Michael and Holly were surprised when a close friend brought their vintage Rolls Royce for the couple to use during the day.

After a lovely meal, and excellent conversation with some guests, it was speeches time.  All did excellently.  This part of the day was marked with Michael putting another ring on it, as he presented Holly with a gorgeous Ruby and Diamond ring.

With the completion of a beautiful day, I wished the couple well, and headed on home.  I'm sure you will agree at looking at this small selection of photographs, its more than clear to see how in love Holly and Michael are. Congratulations guys!  I'm sure you will have a very long and happy marriage.

With Love,

Laura
